A Luxe French Provincial Inspiration Shoot at Kooroomba Lavender Farm

There are some shoots that simply take your breath away, and our recent collaboration at Kooroomba Lavender Farm was definitely one of them! We are more than a little excited to finally share all of the gorgeous details with you from this unforgettable day, as we worked alongside an incredibly talented team to create a French-inspired shoot that encapsulated our vision of a French provencal romance.

Inspired by the magic of the Provence lavender season, this intimate shoot was styled by House of Lilley to reflect French-countryside romance. A sea of lavender fields drenched in golden afternoon light created a truly picturesque backdrop for the day. Every detail of the shoot was thoughtfully considered with authentic French romance in mind, from the soft watercolour stationery suite to the elegant tableware, lilac linens and ruffled buttercream cake. Gorgeous pastel blooms by Mrs Gibbons Flowers tied each detail together beautifully, with lush pink roses and trailing greenery weaving their way throughout the setting.

With a sense of sophisticated luxury resonating strongly throughout each element of the shoot, it was important for the bridal headpiece and jewellery choices to complement not only our gorgeous bride, but the overall styling of the day. We decided to pair the intricate lace gown by Emmy Mae with a selection of our delicate hair accessories for an ethereal and dreamy look.

Our Ariel bridal hair vine was one of the first stunning looks from the day, resting perfectly above the elegant updo styled by Jody Callan Hair. Featuring the palest blush silk ribbon and artisan crafted gold-leaf details, it was a soft, feminine touch that complemented our French garden theme and pastel colour palette wonderfully.

For a slightly bolder look, our much-loved Antoinette floral hair vine in gold was a beautiful fit to frame our gorgeous brides face. To highlight the feminine and luxurious nature of the shoot, we also showcased our sweet Rosanna head wreath and Adrianna bridal headpiece for a romantic look that worked in a more subtle and understated way. We honestly couldn’t choose a favourite – each headpiece adding its own unique flair and proving how the right hair accessory can completely elevate your personal style on your wedding day.

To accessorise our bride, we chose to showcase our Clarence, Darlene and Becca pearl drop earrings for a classic and refined look that complemented the feminine silhouette of the gown beautifully, paired with our hand-beaded Martina pearl clutch. We were over the moon with the end result, as our bridal accessories worked harmoniously together to exude the effortlessly chic and sophisticated style that the French are renowned for.

Our brides ethereal look was completed with the perfect sparkling diamond engagement ring and wedder from our friends at Xennox Diamonds!

As we reminisce over these stunning images by Just For Love photography (recently featured on Polka Dot Bride), we find ourselves being transported back to this dreamy day and wishing we could do it all over again! A huge thank you to the talented team that came together to bring this shoot to life – it’s an experience we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

How to choose the perfect bridal headpiece to complement your wedding dress

We like to think of bridal headpieces as the ultimate finishing touch to your wedding day style. Whether it’s a delicate hair vine or a statement tiara, headpieces have the ability to add some sophisticated luxe into your bridal look in a subtle and refined way. But with so many beautiful wedding hair accessories now available - how exactly do you choose the perfect headpiece for your own big day?

Choosing a bridal headpiece comes down to a few different factors, including your hairstyle, the shape of your face and your own personal preferences. But one of the most important elements to consider when choosing your wedding hair accessories is actually your dress!

The style of your bridal headpiece and your wedding dress go hand in hand - they should complement each other and make your overall look flow harmoniously from head to toe. So if you’ve already secured your dream dress and just need to find the perfect headpiece to finish your wedding day look, read on for our top tips to help you find a flawless match!

Consider your dress style

The first consideration to choosing the right bridal headpiece is the overall style of your wedding dress. Have you chosen a bohemian, ethereal lace gown? A classic and elegant vintage dress? Something high-end and couture? Try to define your overall bridal style first, and use this as a guide when selecting your bridal headpiece.

For example, if you’ve chosen to rock an edgy, couture gown, you might want to pair this with a headpiece that makes an equally dramatic statement, like our Gracie diamante bridal tiara. Or, if your overall look is relaxed and boho-inspired, a simple but beautiful hair vine like our Antoinette or Sofia might be a better fit. Once you’ve defined the overall style of your dress, it will become much easier to select a headpiece that aligns!

Choosing a bridal headpiece

Consider your dress shape

The actual shape and fit of your dress is another important consideration when it comes to choosing the perfect bridal headpiece that will complement your wedding look from every angle. Choosing between a bridal tiara, hair vine, hair pin or hair comb might come down to something as simple as your hemline.

For example, if you’ve chosen a dress with a low back, a beautiful hair comb like our Adalyn or Lola can be a beautiful touch positioned above the nape of your neck to highlight the cut of your gown from behind. Or, if you’ve selected a dress with a higher neckline, a rhinestone crown like our Elizabeth can help to balance this out and add some depth and detail into your look from the front.

Consider your dress colour

What is the underlying hue of your chosen wedding dress? Is it crisp white, pale ivory, or even a soft pastel tone like lilac or blush? The colour of your wedding gown is another factor to keep in mind when selecting the perfect hair accessory to match.

If your wedding dress has warmer undertones like cream or blush, it’s best to complement this with a gold or bronze wedding headpiece. Alternatively, for gowns with cooler hues like stark white, grey or lilac, a silver hair accessory might be a better fit.

Wild Child | A Rock n’ Roll Chic Bridal Inspiration Shoot with a Feminine Edge

We recently had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with US based Allie Miller Photography on a Rock n’ Roll chic styled wedding editorial shoot for the ages. The concept was meticulously designed and planned by the lovely Taylor Johnson of Whimsically Wed and features a plethora of talented wedding creatives who helped bring her vision to life.

When I saw the first couple of sneak peeks that were released, I must admit I did a little happy dance! The model wore the most stunning dip-dyed lace gown by Kata Banko Couture which looked just incredible paired with our ROSANNA gold wedding headpiece. Unfussy tousled waves teamed with dark lips exuded an effortlessly cool, contemporary bridal look. The end result was modern and edgy yet remaining beautifully feminine. I chose to contribute a gold wedding headpiece for this shoot to complement the relatively warm undertones of the gown. The piece features hand-crafted resin roses in a blush tone which just happened to pair brilliantly with the pop of pink on the gown.
