◆am & pm

1. am 意為“上午”，pm 意為“下午”，兩者在用法上應注意以下幾點：

(1) 兩者都不能單獨使用，而要與表示時間的數(shù)字連用，且置于數(shù)字之后；

(2) 不能與 in the morning 或 in the afternoon 連用，以免構成用詞重復；

(3) 不能與 o’clock 連用。

他早上六點起床。

正: He gets up at 7 am.

正: He gets up at 7 (o’clock) in the morning.

誤: He gets up at 7 am in the morning.

誤: He gets up at 7 o’clock am.

2. 相應的短語有時可置于名詞前作定語。如：

I missed the 5:45 pm train from Paris. 我沒有趕上從巴黎開來的下午5點45分的列車。
