◆admire v.
1. 通常只作及物動(dòng)詞，通常用于 admire (sb for) sth, 意為“因?yàn)椤鴼J佩或贊美某人”。如：
We admired (him for) his honesty. 人們贊美他的誠(chéng)實(shí)。
I admire (him for) his success in business. 我們佩服他事業(yè)有成。
2. 其后一般不接 that 從句，但有時(shí)可接 what 從句。如：
We admire (him for ) what he has done. 我們對(duì)他所做的事很欽佩。
但不說：We admire that he is honest.
